Getting started

Download Lace, grant macOS screen recording and accessibility permissions, sign in, and start your first conversation through the overlay.

Install

Download Lace from inlace.co and drag it into your Applications folder. Open the app from Applications or Spotlight.

Grant permissions

Lace needs two macOS permissions to read your screen:

Permission	Why
Screen recording	Captures a screenshot of your active window
Accessibility	Reads text, labels, roles, and interactive state from the accessibility tree

macOS prompts you on first launch. You can manage both in System Settings > Privacy & Security. See Permissions for details.

Sign in

Open Lace and sign in with your account. Your workspace is scoped to your organization.

Start a conversation

Press ⌘L to toggle the Lace overlay. Type a message to start a new chat. Lace reads your active window and uses it as context automatically.

Chats can belong to a project or exist on their own. Use projects to group related conversations around a product area.

Connect your agent

Route approved decisions to Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
